Lightspeed AI Is Now Agentic
Lightspeed AI doesn't just answer questions anymore — it takes action. With agentic capabilities now built into the platform, Lightspeed can reason through multi-step tasks, use your tools autonomously, and complete entire workflows on your behalf.
Since launch, Lightspeed AI has been a powerful assistant — answering questions, drafting content, and analyzing data when you asked it to. But every task required you to drive. You had to know which tool to open, what to type, and how to chain steps together.
That changes today. Lightspeed AI is now agentic, meaning it can independently plan, reason, and execute multi-step workflows across your entire toolkit. Instead of answering one question at a time, it can now take a goal and figure out how to accomplish it.
What Does "Agentic" Mean?
An agentic AI doesn't just respond — it acts. When you give Lightspeed a task, it can now:
- Break complex requests into steps — Ask Lightspeed to "draft a campaign for next month's big jackpot draw" and it will pull your recent draw data, check your knowledge base for past campaign language, generate copy in your brand voice, and queue it in Draft Assistant — all from a single prompt.
- Use tools on your behalf — Lightspeed can now orchestrate across Response Assistant, Draft Assistant, the Knowledge Base, Data Analysis, and more. It picks the right tool for each step without you having to switch between them.
- Reason through ambiguity — When a request is unclear or has multiple valid approaches, Lightspeed thinks through the options and chooses the best path, or asks you for clarification when it matters.
- Learn from context — Agentic Lightspeed remembers what you've worked on in the current session. Ask a follow-up question about "that email" or "the last draft" and it knows exactly what you mean.
Real Examples
Here's what agentic Lightspeed can do that wasn't possible before:
- "Respond to this customer complaint and update the knowledge base with the resolution." — Lightspeed generates the response using Response Assistant, then automatically creates a new knowledge base entry so the resolution is available for future queries.
- "Analyze last month's sales and draft a summary email for the board." — Lightspeed pulls your sales data into Data Analysis, identifies key trends, then opens Draft Assistant to compose a board-ready email with the numbers baked in.
- "Create social media posts for all three of our upcoming draws." — Lightspeed checks your draw schedule, generates platform-specific copy for each draw, and presents all the drafts for your review in one go.
Cross-Tool Orchestration
The real power of agentic AI is in connecting your tools. Lightspeed now has a unified understanding of your entire workspace:
- Knowledge Base — Lightspeed reads and writes to your knowledge base as part of its workflow, keeping organizational knowledge current.
- Response Assistant — Customer replies are informed by your latest data and past interactions, not just the knowledge base.
- Draft Assistant — Campaigns are generated with awareness of your draw schedules, recent performance data, and brand voice.
- Data Analysis — Numbers and trends feed directly into written content, eliminating the copy-paste workflow.
- Runway — Scheduled content is created with awareness of what's already on your calendar.
You're Still in Control
Agentic doesn't mean autonomous. Lightspeed always shows you what it's doing and asks for approval before taking consequential actions. You can:
- Review and edit any generated content before it's finalized
- Interrupt a multi-step workflow at any point
- Adjust the level of autonomy through Agent Instructions
- See a clear audit trail of every action taken
Think of agentic Lightspeed as a team member who can take initiative — but always checks with you before hitting send.
What's Next
This is the foundation for everything we're building next. Agentic capabilities will continue to deepen as we add more tools, more integrations, and more ways for Lightspeed to work alongside your team. The goal is simple: you describe what you need, and Lightspeed handles the rest.
