Lightspeed is an AI-powered platform built specifically for nonprofits and charitable gaming/raffle operators. It includes five purpose-built tools — Response Assistant, Draft Assistant, Insights Engine, Data Agent, and Ask Lightspeed — designed to handle customer service, content creation, data analytics, list management, and general tasks. Unlike generic AI tools, Lightspeed was trained on tens of thousands of real-world operational scenarios and uses machine learning to get smarter with every interaction. Organizations also receive an onboarding session where your personalized knowledge base is created, so Lightspeed knows who you are, and exactly how to help you.
Lightspeed was built by Torin Gunnell, Director of Canada’s largest hospital 50/50 lottery, which has generated over $180 million in revenue since 2021. Every tool in the platform was born from a real problem the team encountered during its monthly raffles and marketing campaigns.
Consumer AI tools are general-purpose — they can do a lot, but they don’t deeply understand lottery operations, customer service cases; and they don’t know you. They also lose context over time and require constant retraining. Lightspeed is the opposite. It was purpose-built for nonprofits, raffles and lottery workflows, trained on real operational data, and powered by machine learning that never forgets. The more you use it, the smarter and more accurate it becomes. It’s also packaged in a simple interface that volunteers and anyone on your team can use immediately — no prompt engineering required.
No. Lightspeed does everything ChatGPT can do and more. If you have any general requirements of an AI tool, our “Ask Lightspeed” assistant operates exactly like ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude assistant(s).
Yes. Lightspeed uses machine learning to continuously improve based on how your team uses it. Every interaction, correction, and piece of organizational knowledge is retained permanently. Unlike consumer AI platforms that lose context and need to be retrained, Lightspeed has “essentially” unlimited memory bandwidth — it never forgets and only gets sharper.
Not at all. Lightspeed was designed so that volunteers, or anyone on your team can pick it up and start using it immediately. There are no training manuals, no complicated setup, and no prompt engineering required. If you can type a question, you can use Lightspeed.
Insights Engine works with raw data exports from online raffle providers like BUMP. Data Agent prepares clean, formatted contact lists ready for upload to email platforms like Mailchimp and Constant Contact. Draft Assistant and Response Assistant work with your organization’s knowledge base to produce content and replies you can copy directly into any platform you’re already using.
In internal testing, the team measured a 7.6x improvement in customer service efficiency using Response Assistant compared to handling inquiries manually. Marketing content is drafted in minutes. Raw data exports that required lengthy spreadsheet work become visual dashboards in seconds. For a small team, the time savings are transformative. Nonprofits have high expectations and limited resources, that’s where Lightspeed can help the most.
Lightspeed takes data security seriously. Your organization’s knowledge base, customer data, and operational information are stored in a secure PostgreSQL 18 database, kept private, and never shared across accounts or used to train models for other organizations. Each account operates in its own isolated environment.
No. While Lightspeed was born from running a 50/50 lottery, its tools are designed for any nonprofit, or organizations running raffles, lotteries, or similar fundraising programs. Whether you’re operating a small community raffle or a large-scale provincial lottery, Lightspeed’s customer service, content, analytics, and data tools are built to scale with your operation.
Getting started is simple. Sign up for a free trial and you’ll have access to all five tools immediately with a generalized knowledge base. Lightspeed is ready to work right out of the box.
